Clerk pricing 2026
Clerk targets React / Next.js developers with drop-in components. In February 2026 it switched from monthly active users (MAU) to monthly retained users (MRU) and folded SSO into the paid tiers - the old $100/mo Enhanced Authentication add-on no longer exists. Hobby is the most generous free tier in the category (50,000 MRU) but keeps mandatory Clerk branding. Pro now includes 50,000 MRU and one enterprise SSO connection; additional SSO connections are $75/mo each.

What it is best for
React, Next.js, and Remix teams that want polished out-of-the-box auth UI without building it themselves.
Hidden costs
- Enterprise SSO / SAML connections are billed per connection ($75/mo each on Pro after the first, volume-tiered down toward $15 at high connection counts), not a flat add-on.
- Clerk branding is mandatory on the Hobby tier - removing it requires Pro.
- Per-MRU overage at $0.02 stacks on top of the flat Pro fee once you pass the 50,000 included MRU.
